Hello, my name is Leah Banks. My older sister calls me Elle Bee. My younger sister calls me sissy. But everyone else just calls me Leah. You are welcome to call me any of the above. I currently live in Gainesville, GA. I  moved here about 4 months ago from Des Moines, Iowa with my mother and two of my sisters.

I am out of school now. I completed one year of college at a community college in Iowa in 2009, and decided it wasn't for me. I've been working ever since. Before I moved to GA, I was working full time at a Daycare as a teacher in the one year old room. Right now I'm working full time as the receptionist for Adventures In Missions.

I am a musician of sorts, working on my own music currently. I sing and play guitar and piano mostly, but I try to learn a bit of every instrument that I see. I was a dancer for 11 years. I haven't been dancing for about 4 years now, but am looking to start again. I love to act and I love the theatre. I like to paint and draw (although i'm not very good), and sometimes I write. I'm mostly a home body, with the occasional dance party or two. I like to curl up in my jams and a blanket, and watch a movie with my closest friends on most friday nights vs. going out. I like to talk and I like to listen. I love the outdoors, and laughing is my favorite.  

I love all kinds of music, but I tend to be less open minded about movies. I'm one of those people who usually sticks to their comfort zone when it comes to movies, but sometimes I'll surprise you. My favortie bands/movies/tv shows/books change like the winds, depending on the season I'm in, but a few of my constants are as follows:

MOVIES: The Nightmare Before Christmas, V for Vendetta, Donnie Darko, The Brothers Bloom, The Village, Coraline, Kill Bill Vol. 1 and 2...

BOOKS: The Lovely Bones, Kite Runner, The Harry Potter Series, The Chronicles Of Narnia: THe Lion, The WItch, and THe Wardrobe.

TV SHOWS: So You Think You Can Dance, Criminal Minds, Pushing Daisies, CSI

BANDS: Jeff Buckley, Mumford and Sons, Laura Marling, Stevie Wonder, The Beatles, Imogen Heap, Joni Mitchell, Damien Rice...

I've never been on a missions trip before. I've never been out of the US. But I've longed to for quite some time. The Lord has given me a passion for women and girls, who have self worth issuses, the women who can not seem to see their own beauty in Chirst. I think I'm mostly excited to talk with these women and love on them, to hear their stories and look into their eyes when they speak. I'm also excited to exprerience a different culture, and a different country. The Lord is preparing something big for this trip, and I'm so excited.
