Hey! I'm here to inform you that everything is going to be ok, because Kayla Ferguson exists, and you will soon be able to encounter the presence of this awesome person the good Lord gave to this Earth. Hah, I am totally kidding.. but seriously.. Kidding. A lot of people call me Kay Ferg, some Fergie, Fergalicious, Fergie Ferg.. I've heard them all. Feel free to call me whatev. But yeah, I'm pretty easy-going and a happy camper. I just love glorifying the Lord, and having fun doing it!
I am from southeast Texas about an hour away from Galveston, closer to the Louisiana border. I graduated high school this past June and in the fall moved to good ole College Station, Texas where I am attending Texas A&M University. I am a loud, proud fightin Texas Aggie, however the Lord has called me to continue my education at Dallas Baptist University, so I will be transferring there in the fall. Bittersweet, but definitely exciting. I am studying Psychology and Social Work. I know the Lord has called me to work with the issue of human trafficking; ultimately I plan on running a counseling safe house for victims in Houston, TX.
I love spending quality time with friends; coffee dates and such are in my weekly schedule. I also am a huge movie person-- I watch a lot of movies. I played tennis is high school and absolutely love it. I try to play as much as I can; I really do miss playing competitively. IM COMPETITIVE. I love games, and I'm easily amused.
Well, for one thing, I am a bit of a germaphobe. It's kinda bad.. Like I'm praying the Lord will break me of it this summer because it really is a problem. I don't touch anything that goes near or in my mouth. Example: when I eat french fries, I eat up until the part I'm touching then throw the past I touched away. I've been like this for as long as I can remember, seriously. I am also the pickiest eater in the world, so eating this summer will be an adventure within itself.
I don't have much missions experience. I have done local service projects with my church, but this is my first time to go overseas. I'm pumped. I have a huge heart for Asia, as well as captives of trafficking. Like I said, I know that I will be working with this issue for the rest of my life, so I am really looking forward to get a glimpse of the future God has in store for me.
I'm excited to meet ya!
